Acupuncture - Practitioner's Work
The educational
training that Kelly received at Tri State College of Acupuncture in Manhattan was diverse.
It
included training in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) with Dr. Sharon Zhao, Japanese Style Acupuncture
with the world renowned Kiiko Matsumoto and her protege, Emilie Connor, Acupuncture Physical Medicine (APM) under
the direction of
Dr. Mark Seem, Five Element Acupuncture with Dr. Lori Dechar and Gua Sha with
the brilliant Arya Nielsen. The Beauty of this ecelectic
education is, depending upon the issues
for each inidivual patient, Kelly is able to use a style or combination of styles to successfully address
the patient's chief complaint(s).
Massage - Practitoner's Work
Kelly's massage work is Swedish based. She encourages the use of breath when necessary, as
as well as incorporating other massage modalities such as deep tissue, trigger point, acupressure, myofascial
work when needed.
She also includes use of essential oils where/when appropriate. All of
these skills/tools contribute to a deep feeling of relaxation and improved overall sense of wellbeing.
Kelly is certified in pre and post natal massage and has felt honored to be working with women pre and post pregnancy
since 2000. In New York City she worked with
Chiropractor Dr, Randi Jaffe, one of the few chiropractors,
at the time certified and using the Webster Technique, whose practice, though varied, primarily cared for women pre and post
natally.
